Cathedral City High School in California is undergoing the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate school, the second school in the area to offer the program. The first school, La Quinta High in the Desert Sands Unified School District, has offered IB since 1999 and has seen a boost in student achievement, said principal Donna Salazar. "For us, it impacted the entire culture of the school. IB training is the highest quality of professional development, and the pedagogy teachers learned through IB have trickled down to all students," she said.
