California should join in on the shale oil drilling boom that could lead to job and revenue generation, writes the editorial board of the San Diego Union-Tribune. The state's Monterey Shale play holds more than 15 billion barrels of recoverable oil, and Gov. Jerry Brown just last month signed into law a bill that would regulate hydraulic fracturing. The governor, however, shouldn't allow the law to be turned into a de facto moratorium on fracking, the board argues.
