China has put London ahead of Singapore, Taiwan, Paris and Frankfurt, Germany, in a race to become a major hub for trading yuan. The government has given London-based institutional investors a quota of 80 billion yuan to invest in Chinese securities traded on the mainland. "My ambition is to make sure London becomes the Western hub for yuan business," UK Chancellor George Osborne said after meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai.
