While the top two chocolate producers in the world continue to grow as the U.S. saw chocolate volumes increase about 6% between 2009 and 2011, and Germany's production increased 4% in the same period, a more substantial jump was seen in Poland, where chocolate output increased 35%. Annual production increased to more than 200,000 metric tons, driven by Cadbury's new facilities and Korean confectioner Lotte's investment in its Polish Wedel brand.
