In a review of 16 studies and 3,153 cases, Italian researchers found that coffee intake lowered the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common type of liver cancer, by about 40%. Some of the findings also showed that consuming three cups of coffee daily was associated with a more than 50% reduced risk of the cancer. The review was published in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
