The country saw an increase of 148,000 jobs in September, according to the Department of Labor. This is fewer than economists had anticipated. The construction sector added 20,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate ticked down from 7.3% to 7.2%. August job gains were revised up 24,000 to 193,000. However, July gains were revised down significantly -- from 104,000 to 89,000.
