About 40% of Americans indulge in dessert at least twice per week, compared with 36% in 2010, according to a report by Technomic. The report also revealed that more Americans are eating desserts during morning and afternoon hours as snacks or post-meal treats. "Consumers aren't holding off on dessert until after dinner. They're reaching for easily accessible, hand-held and portable treats at just about any time of day," Technomic Executive Vice President Darren Tristano said.
