India's Revenue Department imposed a duty of up to $9 per kilogram on the importation of the active pharmaceutical ingredient cefadroxil monohydrate from the EU for the next five years. The department took the anti-dumping measure, intended to discourage cheap imports that could damage India's domestic industry, after the Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties concluded that the bulk drug was being imported at below-normal value.
