A small group of fishermen in Everglades City, Fla., has stopped catching stone crabs in an effort to convince South Florida seafood eatery Joe's Stone Crab to raise wholesale prices at the start of the seven-month season. Prices hit $11 per pound at the end of last season and started this year at $7, which the fishermen say is too low and the eatery says is just right for the start of the season, since prices typically start to rise as the holidays approach.
