Speaking at recent conference in London, Capt. Sarah Kelman, a former women's world gliding champion and EasyJet safety officer, agreed that in recent years commercial pilots have become too dependent on automation suggested that flying gliders could improve pilots' manual flying skills. "Gliders are well suited to demonstrate what loss of control feels like," Kelman said.
