Connected TVs are on track to more than double their worldwide share of the TV market from 12.4%, or 307 million sets, at year's end to 26.8%, or 759 million sets, by 2018, Digital TV Research is predicting. "The introduction of affordable devices such as Google's Chromecast and Sky's Now TV are shaking up the market, with connected TV set manufacturers already reducing their prices as a reaction to this increased rivalry," said Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research.
