Imports of mangoes from Ecuador are on track to increase 20% to 30% this year, largely because of good weather that fueled an increase in the amount of fruit on the trees, said Gary Clevenger of California-based Freska Produce International, which expects its first shipment of the fruit next week. "We've seen considerable growth in consumption. At the same time, the exporting countries have been exporting a lot more volume, so we've taken on more volume, we've been able to sell it and we've been able to sell it with higher FOBs," he said.
