Girls aged 9 to 15 who regularly ate peanut butter or nuts appear to have a lower likelihood of developing benign breast disease by age 30, according to a study of more than 9,000 girls published in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. Consumption of peanut butter or nuts or vegetable fat was linked to substantially reduced odds of developing benign breast disease in girls with a family history of breast cancer.
