Reforms in the health care systems, including the Affordable Care Act, and growing rates of physician turnover are increasing overall demand for primary care doctors, according to the latest benchmarking report from the Association for Staff Physician Recruiters. The association's survey of more than 5,000 searches by providers in 2012 found that nearly 70% were looking for a family physician, with rural positions more difficult to fill than urban ones.
