Twitter's acquisition of Bluefin Labs this year is emerging as a key strategic move ahead of the company's initial public offering, experts say. Bluefin brought a range of TV-analytics capabilities to Twitter, strengthening the social network's appeal to broadcasters and TV marketers. "They have a very short list of markets they want to go after. Twitter picked TV as the one to go after during the IPO period," says Gartner analyst Brian Blau.
