Research has demonstrated the value of having women in leadership positions, yet many executive teams still skew overwhelmingly male. Still, companies such as Garden City Group, where women hold more than half of the the executive positions, have been able to buck this trend. One benefit of having more women in the workplace is that they may bring a different perspective to the table, according to Marcia Reynolds, author of "Wander Women: How High Achieving Women Find Contentment and Direction."
