Data from a survey of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, released during the ACG Annual Scientific Meeting, found 25% had put off getting medical care in the past year and 50% of those respondents did so because of the cost. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America Health Care Access Task Force survey found more than two-thirds of patients, regardless of whether they had health insurance, said they were concerned about paying bills should they become sick.
