High solar intensity was associated with fewer cases of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, but was not linked to the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders or major depressive disorder, a Dutch study showed. Researchers noted that the prevalence of ADHD varies across the world, and that solar intensity could be behind 34% to 57% of the variance. The study was published in the journal Biological Psychiatry.
