A U.S. district judge has dismissed a lawsuit that was filed against biotechnology firm Amgen by a person the U.S. considers to be a professional whistle-blower. Amgen settled a lawsuit with the U.S. over allegations of improperly branding one of its drugs. However, Joseph Piacentile, a physician who the government says has been involved with at least 14 whistle-blower cases, chose not to settle at the time, the judge wrote in his order.
