Four-month-old Indian rhinoceros Ethan, named in honor of Ethan Gilman, the Alabama boy held hostage for six days in February, was found dead in his enclosure at the Montgomery Zoo. Zoo staff report no apparent problems prior to Ethan's death, and a necropsy is planned. The rhino's birth after artificial insemination, a first for the species in the U.S., was heralded as a landmark event for conservation.
