Steve Largent, who has headed CTIA-The Wireless Association® since 2003, will step down at the end of his current contract at the close of 2014, he announced Friday, saying he wants to spend more time with his family. "I will ensure that there will be no impact on our efforts to secure certainty in the FCC auction process as well as successfully transition our trade shows into a new schedule," Largent said of disclosing his plans more than a year in advance. "Steve has done an outstanding job of effectively advocating on behalf of the industry," CTIA Chairman and Verizon Wireless President Dan Mead said in a statement.
