Treatment with a half-size dose of insulin was comparable with standard dosage in treating diabetic ketoacidosis in children, according to a study presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics meeting. Researchers found that children in both groups were able to reach blood glucose levels of 250 mg/dL or less at a similar rate, but they noted gentler glucose declines in those in the low-dose arm.
