Marriott International is ramping up expansion in the Asian market, with 186 signed properties in its Asian pipeline and six hotels scheduled to open this month. The hotel firm is looking to double its portfolio in the region, to 330 properties, within three years. "We are seeing development across all the countries we are currently present in -- including great growth in Japan. We are also entering new markets in Asia, having recently signed hotels in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh," President and CEO Arne Sorenson said.
