The American Express Meetings & Events 2014 Global Meetings Forecast predicts that 2014 will see weak increases or decreases in meeting spending per organization around the world. "In an environment where budgets are expected to be challenging and the approval process for meetings will likely continue to be stringent, companies across all regions are reexamining their meetings strategies in order to achieve meeting objectives, increase efficiency and control costs," said Issa Jouaneh, vice president and general manager at American Express Meetings & Events. Meeting volume in North America is expected to increase 1.5% overall in 2014 among half of the study's respondents.
