The Wisconsin state legislature recently passed a resolution to honor the late Paul Poberezny, founder of the Experimental Aircraft Association. "I think the aviation enthusiasts, the pilots in the Assembly certainly knew of Paul’s work and the EAA. This is one of most amazing stories we’ve had of a true Wisconsin son who built something that has really become a global brand," Democratic state Rep. Gordon Hintz said.
Redbird has promised to offer its $1 avgas promotion during the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators' Pilot Proficiency Project set for next weekend in San Marcos, Texas. "The fact that Redbird is carrying through proves their dedication to aviation safety, and we appreciate it," said Doug Stewart, executive director of SAFE. The company will also provide advanced motion simulators for the event.
Bell Helicopter, with the help of Northrop Grumman, has increased production of unmanned helicopters at its facility in Ozark, Ala. The company has reported that the facility now has 600,000 accident-free hours.
Rhonda Fullerton, director of promotions at Cessna Aircraft, says she's preparing for two big upcoming events: the National Business Aviation Association's Las Vegas conference and the company's signature community event, the Citation Special Olympics Airlift. The company's goal is to organize 175 Citation aircraft to transport some 1,000 athletes and coaches to the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey, Fullerton says.
Honeywell's most recent business aviation outlook predicts that business jet deliveries will amount to $260 billion from 2013 through 2022. While the value of business jet deliveries will increase over the next decade, the number of aircraft sold each year will decrease as demand for larger business jet models continues, the report said.
