The Eagle Ford Shale in Texas and the Bakken formation in North Dakota are the fastest-growing producers of oil over the past month, a report from the Energy Information Administration determined. Bakken Shale production surged by 26,000 barrels per day in September, while Eagle Ford output grew by 24,000 barrels per day, data showed. "The metrics presented in the drilling productivity report are intended to be more informative than traditional indicators of future oil and gas production," said EIA Administrator Adam Sieminski.
