Belkin is joining a security firm founded by a former researcher at Lockheed Martin to bring to market a new Android phone charger that targets mobile malware by automatically scanning and cleaning infected files. Kaprica says its Skorpion device, which will require a monthly fee to use, receives regular updates from the device it is charging and provides deep scans based on a programmable schedule. The company said it eventually plans to introduce Skorpions that work with other smartphone operating systems.
