Many traditional produce categories, such as apples, tomatoes and grapes, have developed new varieties that shoppers may not be familiar with. Large displays and in-store demos can help increase sales of new varieties, according to Steve Wright of Tops Friendly Markets. "A lot of vendors really ... have seen the value of having unique display vehicles for the product. So any time you can kind of have a unique display vehicle for it, it's a chance to kind of put that out on its own and really call attention to it. That works extremely well," he said.
