The NYC Girls Project will blanket New York City with ads on buses and subways in an effort to promote a healthy body image among a diverse group of girls age 7 to 12. "I'm a girl. I'm funny, playful, daring, strong, curious, smart, brave, healthy, friendly and caring," reads one ad that is part of the $330,000 campaign. The effort will also offer physical fitness classes, a program designed to discuss girls' self-esteem issues and a campaign on Twitter, #ImAGirl. The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is supporting the project.
