A new national study involving 16,604 children who underwent solid organ transplant found that 3% of the patients were more likely to develop end-stage kidney disease, particularly those who received intestinal or lung transplants. The risk was lowest for children who received livers. This study, which was published in the journal Pediatrics, highlights the need for continued screening and prevention measures.
