Redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront in Washington, D.C., has stalled after the loss of its anchor tenant, The Graduate School USA, which cited concerns over "government cutbacks and budget uncertainty." The Wharf was to have included 790 residential units, more than 400,000 square feet of office and retail space, two hotels and a parking area. PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette, developers of The Wharf, need to find parties that will invest $750 million to move the project ahead.
