Registered dietitian Tamara Duker Freuman examines another factor in "our 'obesogenic environment' ": worries about wasting food, including leftover meals and uneaten restaurant food. Among her tips: freeze leftovers immediately, use takeout containers to save portions of restaurant meals, buy smaller food containers for small portions of leftovers and remember that sometimes tossing food out can be the right thing to do.
