The Securities and Exchange Commission has imposed fines and other sanctions on three advisory firms for failing to comply with the custody rule, which governs how firms handle clients' funds or securities. Further Lane Asset Management, GW & Wade and Knelman Asset Management have agreed to pay fines to settle the matter and have accepted censure and cease-and-desist orders.
