Tom Wheeler on Tuesday won Senate confirmation to become chairman of the Federal Communications Commission after Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, lifted a hold on his nomination. The Senate also approved Michael O'Rielly for the open Republican seat on the FCC. Wheeler, a Democrat, will likely preside over the Nov. 14 meeting of the agency, which was headed for the past five months by FCC member and acting Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn.
