South Korea banned some U.S. beef imports after a 22-ton meat shipment from JBS USA's subsidiary Swift was discovered to contain zilpaterol, a prohibited feed additive. All shipments from Swift were suspended immediately after the additive was discovered, the South Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said. South Korea intends to conduct inspection of other U.S. beef imports and has asked U.S. authorities to look into the case.
