Students at the University of California, San Diego, successfully tested a 3D-printed engine they designed and built. Students worked with engineers at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., where researchers recently tested the largest 3D rocket part ever built. The development of 3D parts in rocketry is seen as a cost-saving advancement in the construction of complex technical equipment.
