A study by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT revealed 87% of physicians with an EHR system could view electronic lab results and 73% were able to incorporate such data into their system, compared with only 67% and 42% of all doctors, respectively. Researchers also found a higher number of doctors with EHRs can provide clinical summaries to patients and other providers. The findings appear in the American Journal of Managed Care.
