Organic produce sales rose 13% last year, and fruits and vegetables comprise the largest organic food category, according to the Organic Trade Association, but producers and retailers still have a ways to go to clear up the confusion that keeps many consumers from choosing organic, experts say. "The decision to purchase organic is wrapped up in an overarching desire to support sustainability, but there’s still a lot of confusion about what sustainability really means," said Dawn Gray, industry consultant and president of Dawn Gray Global Consulting.
