The increasing support from Democrats and Republicans to rework the Toxic Substances Control Act bodes well for the success of any measure to reform the law, said John Replogle, who heads the cleaning firm Seventh Generation. Seventh Generation and other stakeholders are urging lawmakers to advance these efforts, including a bipartisan bill sponsored by Sen. David Vitter, R-La., and the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J. "The bipartisan nature of the bill in front of the Senate right now does say that people on both sides of the aisle are thinking about the issue. That's the good news." Replogle said.
