T-Mobile introduced the third phase of its "Un-carrier" strategy Wednesday, saying it will no longer charge roaming fees for "Simple Choice" customers for data and text message services in more than 100 countries. The carrier, which also will put a lid on overseas voice call charges, announced a marketing partnership with the singer Shakira and said it has completed the build-out of its national Long-Term Evolution network, which reaches more than 200 million people in 233 markets. CEO John Legere said T-Mobile does not stand to lose much revenue dropping the roaming fees but hopes to pick up more business customers.
