Representatives from companies, such as Twitter, Dropbox, Tumblr, Google, Pinterest and eBay, will serve as mentors during the upcoming 30-hour HackMIT 2013 event. More than 1,000 engineering students from around the world are expected to participate in the hackathon, which was founded by an MIT student who participated in a similar event a year ago. In HackMIT, students will compete to develop ideas and products, and will be given the use of 3D printers and other equipment.
