Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis, who made headlines earlier this year for filibustering an anti-abortion bill, recently lauded a nondiscrimination ordinance passed in San Antonio. On Monday she expressed her desire that the ordinance, which aims to protect the LGBT community, would set a precedent for nondiscrimination policies in the rest of the state. "I hope that it becomes something that is commonplace," said Davis, a Democrat who is running for governor.
