The social media channel -- particularly Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest -- has become an essential tool for travel agents seeking higher sales, a number of travel agents said during a discussion via Google Plus. Agent Denyse Turner said she estimates 90% of her business comes through social media. Margie Jordan of Jordan Executive Travel Service said, "I've had a presence there for years, and people just know me as the travel agent, so they call me ... My contention is, with travel agents who don't want to use social media: You don't have to use it, but guess what? Your clients are there, and I'm there, and I'm looking for them."
