The Transportation Security Administration is expanding security screenings so that they start before passengers reach the airport through programs such as Secure Flight, which uses a passenger's name, date of birth, gender, passport number and other identifiers to compare them with terrorist watch lists. "Secure Flight has successfully used information provided to airlines to identify and prevent known or suspected terrorists or other individuals on no-fly lists from gaining access to airplanes or secure areas of airports," the TSA said.
