U.K. Home Secretary Theresa May is rallying retailers and suppliers to improve supply chain transparency in a bid to fight modern slavery and worker exploitation. She recently launched a protocol with retailer groups, such as the British Retail Consortium, Fresh Produce Consortium and Food and Drink Federation, that calls for vigilance in guarding supply chains against labor malpractice. "If all businesses made understanding how modern slavery can impact them and their supply chain, slave drivers would have nowhere left to go," she said.
