Maria Klawe, president of Harvey Mudd College and member of Microsoft's board of directors, has overseen a dramatic rise in the number of female students majoring in computer science. Women represented only 10% of the students in computer science when Klawe arrived at the college in 2006, but this year's junior class is almost evenly split between men and women.
