Technological breakthroughs in drilling are allowing the U.S. to surpass Russia in oil and natural gas production, experts say. In July, the U.S. produced approximately 22 million barrels per day of oil, natural gas and related fuels, compared with Russia's 2013 estimate of about 21.8 million barrels per day. "This is a remarkable turn of events," said Adam Sieminski, head of the Energy Information Administration.
