U.S. consumers are more likely than individuals in the U.K., Canada and France to prefer generic drugs to branded drugs, according to a study by Phoenix Marketing International. The study also reveals that while 29% of French consumers say generic drugs are of lower quality and 16% are uncomfortable taking them for a serious illness, 73% of respondents have taken a generic drug in the past two years, compared with 70% of Americans, 54% of Canadians and 36% of Britons.
