Brands KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell are leading a push to expand in sub-Saharan Africa as U.S. quickservice chains increasingly become aspirational brands for the region's growing middle class, said Elias Schulze, managing partner of investment consultancy The Africa Group. "An upwardly mobile, confident, Western-leaning and young consumer class bodes well for an American burger boom," he said.
