Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile US grew their share of the smartphone market for the quarter ending in August, mainly due to sales of iPhones, according to Kantar Worldpanel Comtech's latest survey in which Verizon increased its share from 30.2% to 37.1% compared to a year ago. T-Mobile improved its share from 12.1% to 13.2% as the iPhone became the carrier's top-selling brand. AT&T still sold plenty of iPhones but slumped in its share of Android phone sales.
